Telephone entry is the directory-and-call-box system at the front of apartment communities, gated subdivisions, and office parks. A visitor scrolls to a name, the unit calls the resident, and the resident presses a key to open the gate. Texas Gates installs, programs, and replaces these systems across greater Houston.
We install the full DoorKing lineup, including the 1802, 1812, and 1830 series, and we also install cellular systems from CellGate that do the same job without a landline. When a property's old unit dies with the phone line, we can usually swap in a cellular replacement on the same pedestal.

Replacing an old telephone entry unit
Most of the units we replace were installed in the 2000s and rely on a POTS phone line that the carrier is phasing out or that already fails during storms. We replace the head unit, reuse the pedestal and gate wiring where it is sound, migrate the resident directory, and set up remote management so the property manager updates residents from a browser instead of standing at the box.
Multifamily and HOA properties
For apartment communities and HOA-gated subdivisions we handle the whole system: entry unit, resident directory, exit loops, safety photo-eyes, vehicle detection, and the operator itself. We offer maintenance contracts for properties that cannot afford a gate stuck open over a weekend.
