Ranch Entry Gates for Acreage Properties

The acreage north of Houston — Magnolia, Conroe, Willis, Montgomery, Tomball, Hockley, Waller — needs a different gate than a suburban driveway: wider openings, longer runs to power, livestock to keep in, and an entrance that looks like it belongs on the land. Texas Gates fabricates ranch entries in our shop and installs them with operators sized for heavy gates and solar systems that work without a power drop.

What We Build

Custom ranch entry gates in pipe, tube steel, or ornamental iron — single, dual-swing, or cantilever for 16 to 30-foot openings. Overhead entries and signage: arched or straight-top frames with your ranch name, brand, or address in cut or welded steel.

Farm and pasture gates: tube gates, bump gates, and heavy pipe gates for equipment and cattle. Cattle guards fabricated and set in concrete to Texas load standards. Pipe and ranch fencing: continuous pipe, pipe-and-cable, no-climb wire, and cattle panel on pipe posts.

Automation: Apollo/Nice and LiftMaster solar operators sized for heavy gates; keypads, long-range remotes, exit loops, and cellular CellGate access so you can let the feed delivery in from town.

Repair on Existing Ranch Gates

Sagging pipe gates, broken hinges, dead solar operators, batteries that won’t hold a charge, gates hit by a trailer. $89 service call across Montgomery and North Harris County.

Local Knowledge

Long gravel drives and no nearby power are the norm off FM 1488, FM 2978, and Highway 105. We install solar operators with battery capacity sized to the gate’s weight and daily cycles — the most common failure we see on ranch gates is a solar panel too small for a gate too heavy. Sandy soil east of Conroe and clay west of Tomball call for different post depths; we’ve set both. On properties with cattle or horses, we build entries with hardware livestock can’t nose open.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q
Can you automate a gate with no electricity at the entrance?
Yes. Solar operators with battery backup run most ranch gates; we size the panel and battery to your gate and cycle count.
Q
How wide can a ranch gate be?
Single swing to about 16 feet; dual swing and cantilever for 20 to 30-plus foot openings. We’ll recommend based on your entrance and how you use it.
Q
Do you build overhead entry signs?
Yes — the frame and the lettering, fabricated in-house to your design.
Q
Do you install cattle guards?
Yes, fabricated and set in concrete, sized to vehicle and equipment loads.
Q
Do you do pipe fencing too?
Yes — continuous pipe, pipe-and-cable, no-climb, and cattle panel on pipe posts.
