Apollo swing operators are a long-running favorite for Houston acreage and ranch gates because they are DC units that run happily on solar. The 1500 handles a single swing leaf; the 3000 configuration runs a dual swing. There are thousands of them in Montgomery, Waller, and Fort Bend counties, and a lot of them are now old enough to need attention.
We install new Apollo operators and repair or replace older ones across greater Houston.
Where Apollo fits
- ✓Single and dual swing gates on residential and ranch properties.
- ✓Solar installs where there is no power at the gate.
- ✓Light commercial swing gates with moderate cycles.
- ✓Replacement of older Apollo units with current models on the same posts.
Common Apollo problems
- ✓Dead or weak battery: the gate slows and stops. Batteries are the most common Apollo repair.
- ✓Solar panel undersized or shaded, so the battery never fully charges.
- ✓Control board failure from lightning; older boards are getting harder to source.
- ✓Arm and bracket wear from years of gate sag.
- ✓Limit adjustment drift after a post shifts in wet clay.
- ✓Receiver failure so remotes stop working while the keypad still does.
Repair or replace an old Apollo
A battery, receiver, or arm is a repair. A failed board on a 15-year-old unit is often the point to replace, either with a current Apollo or a LiftMaster LA400 or LA500, reusing the posts and access devices. We show you both numbers.
Access control and solar
Apollo operators work with keypads, remotes, CellGate, and cameras. On solar installs we size the panel and battery for your cycle count with several days of cloudy-weather reserve, and we mount the panel where it gets real sun.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Apollo gate opener stop after a few opens?+
The battery is not holding a charge or the solar panel is not keeping up. We test both on the service call.
Can you replace just the board on an older Apollo?+
Often, if the board is still available. When it is not, we quote a replacement operator.
Does the Apollo 3000 need two batteries?+
Dual swing setups need more battery and panel capacity than a single. We size accordingly.
Can I add a keypad or CellGate to my Apollo?+
Yes. Apollo operators accept standard open inputs for keypads, intercoms, and cellular controllers.
Do you carry Apollo parts?+
Batteries, receivers, and common arm hardware are on the truck. Boards for current models are usually available same or next day.
