Access Control & Cameras — Greater Houston

Gate keypad installation and repair, same day.

Wireless and wired keypads, card and fob readers, and Bluetooth entry for Houston driveway gates and commercial entries.

A keypad is the simplest way to stop handing out remotes. Family gets a code, the housekeeper gets a code, the pool guy gets a code that only works Thursdays. When someone leaves, you delete one number instead of chasing a remote.

Texas Gates installs and repairs gate keypads across greater Houston: wireless keypads that pair to your existing opener, hardwired keypads on a pedestal, and card, fob, and Bluetooth readers for commercial gates. Dead keypads, water-damaged units, and codes that stopped working are same-day repairs on our $89 service call.

Keypad options

The right keypad depends on how far it sits from the operator and how many users you need.

Keypad repair

Keypads fail from water intrusion, sun-baked buttons, dead batteries, corroded wiring, and lightning. We carry common replacement keypads and receivers on the truck. If the keypad is fine and the receiver or operator board is the problem, we diagnose that on the same visit instead of selling you a keypad you did not need.

Placement that works for cars

A keypad mounted where the driver has to get out of the car is a keypad people prop the gate open to avoid. We set pedestal height and offset for a standard driver's window, add a pedestrian keypad where foot traffic needs it, and position exit loops or sensors so nobody gets stuck on the inside.

Upgrading from a keypad

When you outgrow a single code, the next step is a controller like CellGate or DoorKing that gives every user their own credential and keeps a log. We can reuse the pedestal and wiring from the keypad install.

Brands we install and service

CellGate (Watchman, OmniPoint, Entria, CG Readers), LiftMaster and myQ, DoorKing telephone entry and access controllers, Viking Access, and Apollo Gate operators. We repair most other brands including Elite, Linear, and Nice.

Frequently asked questions

Can you add a keypad to my existing gate opener?+

Yes. We add keypads to nearly every residential and commercial operator, wireless or wired.

Why did my gate keypad stop working?+

The most common causes are a dead battery, water inside the housing, a failed receiver, or a lightning-damaged board. We diagnose it on a $89 service call and usually fix it the same visit.

Can different people have different codes?+

Yes. Multi-user keypads and access controllers support individual codes, schedules, and logs. Basic wireless keypads support a handful of codes.

How far can a wireless keypad be from the opener?+

Typically 100 to 300 feet depending on the receiver and obstructions. For longer drives we run a hardwired keypad or use a cellular system.

Do you install fob or card readers for businesses?+

Yes. Proximity readers, long-range readers for vehicles, and Bluetooth readers are standard on our commercial installs.
